Mission Statement

I started Djere Web Services as a response to experiences that I had using professional web developers to build websites in the past. What I found was that some web developers are not ethical. Many of them try to exploit a customer's lack of expertise. They often try to charge far more than a fair price to develop your website and provide other services. Many of them won't tell you that free tools exist to do most of what you could want in any site. I take the Biblical passage that forms Djere.com's slogan very seriously:

Matthew 6: 24: “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

Ultimately, if you build an ethical business where you look out for people's best interest, they will come to you. I am proud to say that when I built my most recent 2 websites, acrossad.org and http://djere.com, I did not spend a dime! I did all of the work myself, including making the logos. One thing that allowed me to do this was the very powerful content management system known as Drupal (http://www.drupal.org). A couple of years ago, before I knew about Drupal, a web designer quoted me a price of several thousand dollars to build a music website! It turns out that everything that I wanted in that website is free with Drupal! The same is true of other free content management systems such as Joomla and Wordpress. More importantly, all of these programs give you full access to the program's source code, so if you have programming experience, you can edit the code yourself to add or remove functionality. Once I found out all of this, I never looked back. The most important thing is to empower yourself with the plentiful gifts of free knowledge so that you don't have to pay anyone unless you choose to do so for convenience or time restrictions.

My mission with Djere.com is to provide great services, but to also provide information that will allow people to do as much of the work themselves as possible. God comes first before money. Doing that which helps and empowers people is far more important than making a profit. Profits should never be the prime motivator of a business, rather profits should come as the byproduct of faithful service to one's fellow mankind. I humbly submit to you and yours the services of Djere.com!
