Code::Blocks: Bringing Free Software Into a Windows 7 World

Unfortunately, about 90% of the world's computers still run Windows. However, an undeniable reality is that free software is becoming more and more popular. There are several reasons for this:

  • Free software is cheaper. (e.g. free)
  • Free software is more secure because more people can see and fix the source code.
  • Free software gets updated more frequently.

I work in an environment that is dominated by Windows. Every computer runs Windows XP. However, I have seen more free software begin to creep into my work environment such as:

  • GIMP
  • Firefox
  • Inkscape

Today, I made a short Youtube tutorial showing how to install and configure my favorite C++ Intergrated Developemt Environment, Code::Blocks, on Windows 7. Enjoy!

Code::Blocks is a great product! Please help to support their work here: http://www.codeblocks.org/donations
